Post-Thanksgiving Update

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Thank you so much for the all of the calls and emails! Things are VERY busy over here at Genesis Photography (aka. my house) and I have been doing my very best to meet everyone’s needs in a timely fashion.

For this reason, in order to provide my clients with the kind of personal attention and quality work I intend to, I am not taking on any more new clients in the month of December. I will, though, leave a few slots open for newborns if necessary. And things will resume as usual in January.

Now on to the good stuff.

This family traveled all the way from St. Paul to have a session, and I am SO glad they did! Their daughter (despite the frigid temps) was all smiles and giggles. I had so much fun editing this session because this kid’s smile is contagious. I actually was even brought to tears at one point because it is so evident in the photos how much this couple loves their little girl. Really, ask my husband if I cried.

I know… I am a dork. And possibly too sentimental, but tell me what you think…

Okay, I have to stop now. Back to work!

More than just your typical head shots…

I recently had the opportunity to step a bit out of my normal routine and do some “head shots” for an actress in the area. Now, I just have to say that this woman is incredibly gorgeous, and the photos turned out even better than I had hoped. Since I don’t specialize in posed photos, I was wondering what we would come up with, but now I can hardly narrow them down to a few favorites! I love them all!

As I was proofing this session, I couldn’t stop thinking about an episode of Days of Our Lives from way back, when Patch and Kayla danced to that rockin’ tune. Although Kayla DID have a red dress on, not awesome red socks like the senior in this shoot.

Having a BLAST

I cannot tell all of you how much I love photography. And being able to meet so many incredible kids and parents… I feel so blessed to be able to wake up every day and know that I get to do what I love. I could write a novel here, but what I really want to say is THANK YOU! Those of you who have been clients: Thank you for letting me photograph you and your families! I am so honored to know you and to spend time having fun with you. I used to get nervous before a shoot, and now, each time, I am so excited I can hardly wait! I never get tired of it, and I never wish I was doing something else.

So there, I said it.
