Crunch time

Well, with the Christmas celebrations next week and our upcoming trip to Ethiopia, it has been CRAZY around here. My house is a disaster, my to-do list is a mile long, and the excitement is building! Less than three weeks until we meet our daughter!!! I promised a photo of her, so that you all could see how beautiful she is. This was taken by a friend of ours who recently visited the orphanage. Check our her one tiny little tooth!

Anyway, I am so behind on my blogging that I am still posting shoots that took place months ago! Sorry about that! Anyway, here are some wonderful fall photos of a wonderful family. They are expecting a new baby in January too!  So exciting!

Update

As many of you may know, my husband and I are in the process of adopting a baby girl from Ethiopia! Things are finally getting closer to our travel dates (which have yet to be finalized) and we are very excited!  We can’t wait to welcome our little girl into our family and into our lives forever…

Because of this, I will be taking some time away from my typical photography schedule to care for my new baby. SO, my tentative schedule for the next few months looks like this:

November – FULLY BOOKED

December – Slots left for two newborn shoots and one maternity shoot FULLY BOOKED

January – CLOSED for booking, but limited Viewing Sessions will be available

February – Very Limited booking (please feel free to contact me now for these 3-4 sessions)

March – Resume regular schedule

Finally, a family photo!

Here is another wonderful family from a shoot a while back. We had a great time out in the country air (minus the slight scent o’ manure–haha!) on some land that this family owns and has plans to build on someday. They informed me that this was their first official family photo shoot EVER. What an honor to be the first photographer to capture this family in photos!

 

 

 

Flu, Flu, go away…

Well, for the last 8 days I have been sick with the flu. The cough, nose, throat, body ache, laying-in-bed kind. And if you read my last post you know that I DON’T HAVE TIME TO BE SICK!!!!! Well, I was finally able to finish these images for these awesome people last night, who have been so kind to me while waiting for their photos (as you can see from their attire, this shoot took place WEEKS ago!)

So a little bit about them…

There are times in our lives when we meet people who are truly deeply in love, deeply connected, and just overall great people. They enjoy each other, they know how to live life to the fullest, and they radiate kindness and peace.

Copycat. Me. I am a Copycat.

When I arrived to this session a few weeks ago, we were looking through this little guy’s clothes that mom had picked out for the photos, and I saw this great little Paul Frank sweatshirt. I said, “Oh yay! We will totally do some in this, I love Paul Frank stuff.” Then she proceeded to tell me that Paul Frank had a limited time line at TARGET. You are kidding me!!! (I believe I said this about 10 times.) Wait, Paul Frank boys clothes…in my price range?  D o e s .   N o t .  C o m p u t e .

So this is where the copycat part comes in:

After the session was over, I immediately drove to Target to buy Paul Frank stuff for my boys. And it felt dang good!
